Tenindewa vs Geraldton 1951

Greenough Sun Thursday 21 June 1951

A match of particular interest to football fans will be played at the Mullewa Recreation Ground next Sunday between teams representing Tenindewa and a combined “B” Grade Association team form Geraldton.
Whilst press reports from Geraldton indicate that great interest is being taken in this match and that a team from Geraldton worthy of upholding the prestige of that centre, the Tenindewa people feel that in their representatives they have team quite competent of holding their own and they are quite confident they will win the day.
Tenindewa’s team as follows

Backs—–W. Weir, R. Bone, Reg Keeffe
H/Backs- Paddy. Butler, J. Brenkley, (capt) Doug. Brenkley
Centres– Clive O’Brien, Keith. Bone, Col O’Brien
H/Forwards… Albert Cream, B. Critch, J. Jackamarra.
Forwards–Tom Moore, Col Bone, C Dalgety
Rucks—–Vern. Keeffe, T. Giltrow
Rover—-Paddy. Barden
Umpire–Ron Wandernberg
All proceeds of this match are to the aid the candidature of the Tenindewa Queen for the Mullewa Hospital.

Note; This would more than likely been the last ever Tenindewa Team that ever played.
T Giltrow would possible have been a typo and T was possible Reg Giltrow
B. Critch would definitely have been Kevin Critch
C. Dalgetty would have possibly been Ralph Dalgety (who was the “Ganger” on the Railway at Tenindewa at that time).
